About the artist. Born in Montréal in 1938, Guy Montpetit is a painter, a muralist and a significant figure in Québec contemporary art. During the course of his career, Montpetit collaborated with deaf children and, together, they developed a visual language that now ornates very large areas such as the Assomption Metro Station.

About the artistBorn in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu in the province of Quebec, Jean Cartier (1924-1996) had a brilliant career as a ceramist that lasted almost half a century. Many of his artworks are integrated in various building architecture including the Cadillac and the Papineau metro stations.

About the artist. Born in Montréal, Jean-Paul Mousseau (1927-1991), one of signatories of the Refus Global, was a painter, sculptor, set designer, and interior designer. His artworks can be found in the collections of major museums and in numerous public places.

About the artist. Marcel Raby is an architect employed by the City of Montreal who, as such, designed both the Joliette and Pie IX metro stations. Raby, a true artist, also designed four of the five artworks that ornate two of the seven metro stations located in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.

About the artist. Born in Granby in the province of Quebec, Charles Daudelin (1920-2001) who, with other artists, pioneered the integration of art in public spaces. One of his most celebrated artworks, a sculpture named L’embâcle, ornates the Place du Québec in Paris since 1984. Daudelin received the Ordre national du Québec in 1998.

Citius, Altius, Fortius (1976)

About the artist. Jordi Bonet (1932-1979), a Spaniard born in Barcelona, moved to Quebec City in 1954. A painter and a sculptor, Bonet created more than one hundred murals all over the world, including the triptych that ornates the Grand Théâtre de Québec
